Soft Glitter Party Makeup

I’ve been planning to create a party/new Year makeup look for a while, mainly because it being the ‘party’ season, and I wanted to go for a really glam glittery look but I ordered a couple of Mac pigments and they never arrived in time. So then Boots decided to send me their Beauty Box which contains various makeup bits to create the perfect ‘party Makeup‘ look, and this is the look I created using some of those products, a soft glittery eye with a bold lip. This look is half high end and half drugstore, but it could easily be created using all drugstore products, I just used a few of my go-to makeup products rather than using different ones. I wasn’t going to post this look because my full face pictures came out awful and don’t do the makeup justice at all. My contour and highlight literally looked perfect for once, but due to the crappy winter lighting, it just doesn’t show on camera! Anyway, the two products I used for them were both drugstore products which really surprised me, my contour came out better than it does use my high-end bronzer, so I may be switching up what I use now!

Base;

I used my Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in 1N1 Ivory Nude, topped with my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in ‘Translucent’ for the perfect matte base!

Contour;

For my bronzer & contour, I used the Barry M Chisel Cheeks Contour Kit* which I didn’t have high hopes for looking at it, but the darkest shade in this palette is the perfect shade for contouring if you’re a pale girl like me. It’s not warm toned at all like most other products I’ve used for contouring and it defines your cheek bones perfectly. The other two shades in the palette are okay for highlighting and bronzing, but it’s the contour shade that sells it to me.

Highlight;

To highlight the tops of my cheek bones, nose, and cupids bow, I used Sleek’s Solstice Highlighter Palette* which I fell in love with at first sight. It’s in rose gold packaging for starters, but the shades are just gorgeous. I stayed away from the cream shade as I never get on with cream formulas, but the bottom two shades in this palette give the most beautiful highlight. There’s also a purple toned baking powder but I’m not a huge fan of that shade, it just doesn’t compliment my skin tone very well. The orange toned baking powder & the cream shimmer powder are the two shades I used, and they gave me such a pretty glow.

Brows;

I used Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow in ‘Chocolate’ as always, I sometimes alternate between this shade and Dark Brown, but mostly use Chocolate. For my brow bone highlight, I used the Sleek Highlight Palette again in the cream shimmer shade.

Eyes;

For my crease shade, I used my Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette in the shade ‘Salted Caramel’ and the bronze glitter shade from the Collection Your Style Your Mood Palete* all over my lid and under my bottom lash line. I used my Mac Vanilla Pigment in the inner corners of my eyes as always.

For my wing, I used Loreal’s Super Liner* which may be my new favorite eyeliner, it’s got the perfect tip for creating a wing. I’ve used various eyeliner pens before and they’ve been awful which put me off them, but this one has completely changed my mind! It applies so black too which is something most others fail to do, it only needs one layer!

On my lashes, I used Benefit’s Roller Lash Mascara and a pair of Red Cherry Lashes in #47 which I love.

Lips;

And finally, on my lips, I used Mac’s Ruby Woo lipstick topped with some of my Mac loose pigment in Rose to add a bit of glitter, which just gives it that little bit extra for a new years eve look.

I’ll probably use some of these products again so that hopefully next time my pictures come out better to do the contour & highlight palettes justice. Hope you liked this look! 🙂
